The artist couple based in Arizona, U.S., has been compared to ying and yang: complementary and contrary at the same time, enriching and inspiring one another through their own individuality. Sumati and Michael Colpitts chose clay as their main medium, although Michael is also a wonderful abstract painter. They work together as one piece. While Michael goes primarily for the figurative work and dies all the firings, Sumati creates the animal’s sculptures and does all the finish work. A perfect synergy independent of the artwork. We exemplarily chose “Buddha”, one of the many award winning sculptures of “Artful Ceramics – one of a kind ceramic sculptures” by Sumati and Michael Colpitts. Isn’t it wonderful?
